Today is the final thursday. I have ONE cabin activity left, TWO drama lessons, TWO set design lessons and TWO method lessons. Tomorrow is Banquet. I need to write 50 banquet notes nearly, before tomorrow night!

Haven’t had time to write properly in a while! Well, life at Mohawk is much the same. We’re pretty busy now because it’s getting to the end of the last session so everything needs to be left neatly. A few counselors left at the weekend, which was really sad, but other than that there’s a real positive attitude around camp- everyone’s excited to go home!

So, long time no posting. We’ve started Session 4 now, final fortnight, we’re on the home stretch now! New cabin of girls are pretty good, I have a different co-counselor now as Maddy had to go home. I’m now with Mary, she’s one of the girls I lived with in staff training from England and I love her so much so it’s great :) Beauty and the Beast is this sessions play...

The New York Times are coming to Camp Mohawk! HOW CRAZY?!
The American Camping Association are here today checking us out aswell- so we’re all on our best behaviour for a day!
Wizard of Oz is going good, Set Design is a bit crazy but fun, and I’m now teaching Drama Method too! So yeah, Camp is good.

25/07/2010 Start of Session 3
Okay, so Session 3 officially starts at 1pm today. It’s is now 10pm, and I officially start work again at 11. YAY.
We went to Lake Compounce on our day off yesterday- it was so much fun but absolutely exhausting- and then into Torrington for the usual ice cream and Kmart :P
I have quite a lot to do in terms of sorting everything out for the Wizard of Oz, and cabin activities and stuff. But...

So on Wednesday afternoon the heavens opened. We were all sent to the cabins, not allowed to leave for ANY reason, and the power went out. I go back to work in two hours, but for now it’s my day off! I swam across the lake today! It was exhausting but really nice to be in the water, and last night we saw Eclipse! Definitely the best day off so far.

Went to Mass this morning ‘cause they needed an extra counselor and I’d be up anyway because one of my girls is going to Mass. I got told off by the priest for not being Catholic and accepting communion- even though I crossed my arms and he made me take it :S Ahwell. It’s the 4th of July! Nothing exciting is happening, it’s optional rec all day and I have a bit of planning...

I HAVE A DAY OFF. From 5.30 last night until 5.30 tonight I don’t need to look after my cabin or teach! Went to see Toy Story 3 with Mary and Parveen :) It was so good and funny :) Was nice to get out of camp, although when I tiptoed back into my cabin at 11.30 I felt kind of sad that I didn’t get to talk to my girls, and when I read the fun factors from last night it was really...

Well it’s been a stressful few days since the girls arrived. My cabin is 7 girls, all 13 and they are a very very mixed bunch. We have a french girl who speaks little english, two ‘water balloons’, two cliquey girls and two genuinely lovely girls. Today was the BEST DAY so far without a doubt. We had staff bonding games, this weird guy came to play games with us. It was fun. We all got little monkey things at the end.
Today was also super super hot. It started raining so we all put jackets and trousers on, then it got wayyyy too hot. Especially when playing games in the rec hall, super warm. Started to plan cabin activities, which...

We had pancakes for breakfast yesterday which confused me, and we had roast potatoes with omelette today :S The foods weird.

We were given our units today: I’m with Oscadees- the second oldest, 12/13/maybe 14. I have my own cabin, instead of a co-counsellor, which I’m pretty glad about. Also decided on plays- Annie, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast. Very excited, very tired, just doing lesson plans :)

Well, I don’t really know where to start. The Plane journey was pretty long, but I managed to watch The Ghost Writer, and Dear John. Good plane services! There was two meals, loads of recent films to watch and music- and free cola! We got to New York and a helpful man guided us to the right bus, and dropped us at the Bus Terminal with an hour to kill before our bus- so we wandered to Times...

It’s a good feeling, knowing all my forms are in. Literally just got my visa on thurs, then I’m all done except for packing. Been talking to some people who are going to Mohawk to, getting an idea what to take, and what everyone’s like. It sounds wonderful, and everyone’s said once you go you’ll want to come back! So exciting :) Want to go now :P
